| The scale of the pyramids is hard to imagine without actually being there. The size of each stone weighing about two tons is virtually the size of a man, yet there are millions of stones piled one on top of the other, each playing its part in maintaining the only remaining ancient wonder of the world. Inside each of the pyramids is a place for the pharaoh. The rough stones were originally covered with a gleaming white stone, all joints smooth to eye and exacting. The wealth and resources expended on these creations would dwarf anything being constructed today. The power of one man to be responsible for the lives of the many building an edifice to his might shows the importance the Egyptians placed on the afterlife. With the disposable packaging, the throw away relationships, and the buildings designed to last only twenty to thirty years, are we short changing ourselves? Is the excitement of the moment important in the view of eternity? Plan ahead for it. Even the Egyptians did. | |||||||||||||
